Blueman 0.5 Released!

Feature highlights:

  • Drag&Drop support in the main list
      Drop you files into the device list and it will begin sending immediately.
  • Automatic network configuration!

    Blueman 0.5 includes a new feature that makes internet sharing with Bluetooth devices a piece of cake.

    With a single click it will automagically configure Bluetooth network interfaces, add routing to iptables, and start the dhcp server.*

  • Revamped dialogs and graphical interface elements

  • obex-data-server integration
    Allows creating ftp, opp services
  • Policykit integration
     For granting access to system settings it uses the new freedesktop's policykit.

Dependencies:
  • python-gtk2 (>= 2.12)
  • bluez-gnome (>= 0.25)
  • bluez-utils (3.26 <= x <= 3.28)
  • python-bluez
  • python-dbus
  • python-notify
  • policykit (>= 0.7)
  • obex-data-server
Build Dependencies:

* If you're not using ubuntu 8.04 or other recent distro and want to build blueman yourself note that bluez package requires two patches (if you want network functioning properly) which I provided in the downloads page. (The deb packages in the repository are already patched, I will also make merges with official ubuntu packages)
